Standing in the windby booboo_goonComment: nice, my first thought was of that famous William Eggleston tricycle shot.

Sand and Sunby jaysonmcComment: I like the concept and think that some horizontal motion blur would have helped a lot.
It would appear more painterly; Rothko-like.
Don't stop going against the grain here. |

60's Tripby MAKComment: Originally posted by e301: ...unsure about the posing here - it just brings questions about why she's shooting without using the viewfinder, but I see your dilemma of course. |
It looks to me like she just finished snapping a shot and is giving somewhat of a coy "I gotcha" look.
Really like this, wonder if a little warmth would approach more of a 60s color feel? |

Crossing Long at 6thby timfythetooComment: This was my 2nd place image (my top pick finished 41st).
By the title I wondered if this was a CBUS shot and was surprised to see it was you, Tim, as you say it is a different kind of image for you.
The blur could have worked, especially with the sepia and the aspect ratio - it exudes a large format print feel.
But as has been said, the blurring was not executed as well as it needed to get top votes.
You should check out the Tiffen DFX package - it has a really great selective lens blur tool a la` Lensbabies.
Would be interesting to see the results it would have on your original.
Nice job, go CBUS! ;) Message edited by author 2008-01-28 10:44:09. |

wet and coldby TuesdayComment: I really like this.
I think it could be improved by
a) focus on the woman or
b) if the background was out of focus as well
This image looks ripe for lensbaby treatment as well |
