This is a nice shot. I like the way the DOF falls off towards the last ants. The only thing I would have done differently is, it looks as if you tilted your flash to the left to take the shot which has thrown the shadow behind the ants and they are getting a bit lost, so I would have tilted the flash to the right in order to throw the shadow the other way and the ants would stand out better.

That looks like a lot of fun. Yes pity about lack of space on the left but still a lovely shot. I like the sidelighting, the late afternoon light gives it a very "moody" feel.

Wow what beautiful scenery, New Zealand is stunning. I cant help feeling I would also like to see this same shot with the gate open or just from the other side of the gate. Stunning, I wish we had scenery like that around here.
