Outgoing Tideby yakatmeComment: Originally posted by wbanning: The colors are so powerful in this, I wouldn't normally consider them pastel, but the longer I look, the more the softer shades stand out. This is lovely, well-balanced. Delicate intensity. Here's some bling in appreciation.

Thanks, Bill, for my first "bling" of any sort. |

Glacier Lagoonby ArnaMarieComment: Hi Arna, that is a great first entry! I was disappointed to see that nobody has yet responded to your wish for feedback and tips.
There is one step that would have rocketed this image to a much higher placement in this challenge: A simple S-Curve curves adjustment to increase contrast.
Check out the tutorials under "Learn" in the bar at the top of the page for a lot of good information. The specific tutorial on curves adjustment is here: //www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=58
Try the second example on S-Curves for increase in contrast and keep entering challenges! Message edited by author 2014-08-08 10:20:03. |

Breaking Dawnby Silent-ShooterComment: Awesome shot and post processing. A new fave!
edit to add: You didn't appear to have any problems with haze and the associated lack of contrast in the mid to distant hills as I did in my recent trip to New Zealand. Was there any haze or did you overcome it in post processing? It would be interesting to see one of the original images. Message edited by author 2012-04-08 13:07:50. |
