Smoking Watching TVby JPRComment: I've given the same basic comment on quite a few shots -- my preference (as I discovered while looking at a number of these blur shots) is for a sharp subject. When there is no sharp subject, my eye wanders around trying to find something to focus on. I also don't prefer pictures that I can't tell what I'm looking at. At first glance, that's definitely true in this shot (for me at least). Reading the title helps, but then I'm wondering where the TV is. Perhaps just a difference in artistic preference. |

When there is no sharp subject, my eye wanders around trying to find something to focus on. That really happens on this shot. Perhaps just a difference in artistic preference. |

One hell of a rideby edmengComment: Wow... I'm confused with this picture!
What's the motorcycle resting on? It looks like it's floating in air.
A snail?!
The background is blurred, but I think it's just out of focus.
There's some blur in the front wheel, because it's spinning, but the back wheel isn't.
Is this bike moving or not?
It's a cute idea -- I like the idea. Perhaps if you'd managed to get both wheels spinning and get a little motion in the background this would have been a more clever shot. |

NEW: Lightning Trucksby KitaComment: I'm missing the motion here... It looks like the lights behind the truck are being moved... And that's certainly motion blur -- but it doesn't impart any sense of motion in the subject. I think I would better like a shot similar to this where the truck was actually rolling (the wheels would blur) past a blurred background that was caused by the movement of the truck. Perhaps it's just a difference in "artistic preference" though. |

Bombs bursting in airby TonyTComment: I think we're missing a lot, because of the blown half of the picture. It looks like it might be a pretty fantastic shot if the brightness were cut back so we coud see some of the details of the fireworks. |

Chickennnnnns Innnnnnn Spaaaaaaceby Mal37Comment: It's hard for me to see the blur in this shot. I think if the chick were lit a bit better for the walk it would be more obvious. With my LCD monitor at work, I didn't see the blur at all. |

Passing Tonesby graphicfunkComment: I like the concept here -- and the lighting is good dramatic. I had a bit of difficulty figuring out what it was. I think it would have helped me to have a little more light on the Sax so I could see more than just the highlighted reflections. I generally don't care much for pictures where I can't tell what I'm looking at -- and that was my first impression with this shot. I had to study it to get it. |

Wind Up Toysby bgslawComment: This seems like a good setup, and nice lighting. I almost missed the blur though. It would have been nice to have the motion a little more visible. |
