featherby odriewComment: the weird flatness of the exposure is a bit bothersome but the content and composition are really nice. I was super intrigued by the thumbnail and had to inspect this further. nice capture. |

Adjust Sharpnessby strickyComment: this is almost there. I would have set up the props a little differently. the bit of shaving that is falling out of the frame is somewhat distracting and I would have pulled together all the little bits of wood chips that look like they might be dust on your sensor. I'd look up the rule of thirds as a start in aiding the composition. The exposure settings on your camera are also a bit too dark. For shots like these, if you don't have the proper lighting inside, take it outside on a nice day, usually the best light you can get. |

pair of acesby jcarComment: the composition is there and I like the chair you chose and the idea of concealing the face of the subject to put the focus on the playing cards but the lighting isn't there at all. The image is very very flat and dull. I can see you tried fixing it with some HDR tone mapping but I feel that it isn't necessary for this shot. There is also a weird contrast between a vintage photo and super modern playing cards and the kid wearing a baseball cap. Again I think why this image isn't successful is mainly because of poor lighting. |

twoby bspurgeonComment: I appreciate the abstraction and the soft focus, what I enjoy most is finding the subject after looking for a time. a very interesting photo that I enjoy. Im betting a lot of people are going to give this the same score as the title. Interesting image. |
