Stranger In My Cup by RackatComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Rackat...we meet again ;)
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Horrible shot...what were you thinking???...oops, no, that was your splash of colour photo. This is a really cool photo.
COMPOSITION:
A bit centered, but what can you do...it's a cup :)
TECHNICAL:
Focus is good, dof is good, lighting is good (gosh I hate critiquing your photos...I can't find any faults) :)
ARTISTIC:
Very interesting idea...I would like to see it with a diff cup, one without the yellow handle. I like it alot, and wonder how you did it...so here's YOUR assignment: go back to your photo and post a comment explaining where the diver came from :)
OVERALL:
Excellent
Best of luck in the future. Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions about this critique.
Cheers...zadore. |

"Stranger in a Strange Land" somewhere strange.by boyte1Comment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Anona
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Nice :|
COMPOSITION:
I'm not too sure about the 'busy' background with the different tones and brightness. Other than that I find it nicely setup :|
TECHNICAL:
Very nice focus, good use of DOF to blur out the 'distracting' bg. Nice soft lighting on the book...i like the shadows on the pages. :)
ARTISTIC:
This would make a cool shot to promote the book. I think you got the score you got because some people see this image as a 'copout' shot. I thinks it's really good :)
OVERALL:
Very nice shot.
Cheers and good luck in the future challenges. |

Just wanna be, your "Teddy Bear"by MustbelostComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Lloyd
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Cool detail, cute photo :)
COMPOSITION:
Perfect. I really like the crop you used. White background really helps define the bear. :)
TECHNICAL:
Can't find anything wrong here either. Focus is real good. Lighting might be a bit bright (knit-picking) :)
ARTISTIC:
I'm not familiar with the song/lyrics but your subject definately fits nicely with the title (although when I think of a Teddy Bear I think of a fluffy stuffed Teddy Bear). You might not have gotten a higher score because there is no 'Wow' in the photo...it's just a very good macro shot of a Teddy Bear. :|
OVERALL:
Very good shot which maybe should have scored better. Great detail and colour.
Cheers and good luck in the future challenges. |

The South is Going to do it Againby NitenComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Jim
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Nice :|
COMPOSITION:
I don't have much of a problem with your comp. I would like to see a bit more space in front of the canon, maybe. :)
TECHNICAL:
Your DOF might be a bit short on this one, as the canon seems a bit soft. Lighting is very nice. :|
ARTISTIC:
It's a canon. Nothing too interesting in my opinion. It fits nicely with the title (although I'm not familiar with the song...and I'm sure many of other DPC users who live outside the US) I like the BW on this photo, but it might have had more of an impact if in colour :|
OVERALL:
Pretty good shot, and worthy of where it finished.
Cheers and good luck in the future challenges. |

Traveling By Rail by TarbiniComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Todd
FIRST IMPRESSION:
10 all the way!
COMPOSITION:
Amazing. Love the way you used the track lines with the road on the background to create this dynamic shot :)
TECHNICAL:
Very good...would like to see one with the foreground in better focus. Natural lighting is great. :)
ARTISTIC:
Very well seen. I think the duo-tone look of it works very well. The texture of the rocks works beautifully with the 'softness' of the mountains in the background :)
OVERALL:
Very creative, very well executed shot....i'm jealous :)
CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB!!

Christmas timeby andlbComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Andrej...WELCOME TO THE SITE!! ;)
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Pretty cool!
COMPOSITION:
Very nice. The shot looks very balanced the way it's setup. :)
TECHNICAL:
Nice focus, nice lighting...perhaps a bit over-exposed. :|
ARTISTIC:
I find it very interesting to look at. I not sure how you achieved the colors but they look great. As for the UFO-like thing, I think YOU did that, cause it looks like it's attached to a wire or something coming from the left :)
OVERALL:
Pretty good shot, and worthy of where it finished.

Just another day on the road.by GekkerComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Carey
FIRST IMPRESSION:
It's a truck...
COMPOSITION:
I don't think the centered composition does this shot any favours. Maybe you could have used the curves of the road to frame it a bit better. :(
TECHNICAL:
Good focus, good lighting :)
ARTISTIC:
I find this shot very uninteresting. I think that if the message on the truck wasn't there you would get even lower marks...but what can we do. All the wires on the top are very unattractive. :(
OVERALL:
Ok
Cheers and good luck in the future challenges. |

Grandpa Traveling No Where --(Fast!!!!!)by DianaComment: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Diana
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Just a snapshot :(
COMPOSITION:
I think a wider crop would have worked better, to get more of the landscape. The subject is too centered. :(
TECHNICAL:
Nice focus. Seems a bit dark, though...increasing the exposure a bit would have helped. :|
ARTISTIC:
It's a cute photo, but not very interesting to look at...sorry :(
OVERALL:
I think there is potential, but it would need improvement in the technical dept. :(
Cheers and good luck in the future challenges. |
