Indeed. Sadly the challenge was 'scent and aromas' :-) |

5 columns waiting to be pouredby IronworkerComment: The resolution of this picture doesn't help it, but my main problem is just that the fifth column (at the rear, on the left) is not very obvious - it almost disappears into the building - and without the title to give me a clue I might not even have figured out what I was looking for.
The object on the top edge (crane hook?) is also distracting. |

Simple Eleganceby whagerbaumerComment: The biggest thing I see in this picture is that it's either out of focus or a slight case of camera shake (my money's on the latter). The concept isn't bad, but at least some of the elements needs to be sharp for me.
My other problem is the headless candles. Either including the entity of the candles (shorter candles would do if you didn't want to end up with a picture that was too vertical) or even no candles at all.
The lower edge is a little tight to the base of the candlestick for me; if I was reshooting this I'd give a bit more space at the bottom, lose the candles and move the camera up a little too - the holders at the rear are too obscured by the ones in front and a higher angle would give them more visibility. |

Millenium Number - 20050505by ramaduraiComment: I'm afraid this just feels too much like a last-minute snapot to me. The background is distracting, as is the reflection of the window off the bottom right of the screen. The top of the phone has been cropped off, and the hand just feels too close.
I can see the idea, but for it to work (for me) the background needs to be un-noticed (ideally totally uniform, but at least without the patterned carpet!) and the camera needs to be pulled back to at least include the entire phone. |

Singled Outby dogzComment: Stunning DOF - if it turns out you added it later in Photoshop I'll be most disappointed :-) |

Ageby gandersComment: This is a good example of why entering late on Sunday evening, from a laptop, after half a bottle of wine is a bad move. It looked sharp to my eye then, but it was very obvious on Monday morning that it wasn't and, as commenters pointed out, it really needs to be sharp. |

Mouselight shadowby PatochComment: I'm usually a big fan of shallow DOF effects but for me it's just too shallow to work. |
