You are correct about it being flat. I'm not very happy with it myself.
Know to learn how I could have done it different. :)

Thanks for all the comments...

I really like the lighting and soft look in this photo.
At first I thought it would look better if the horses were on the left side giving them room in the direction they were moving.
But after looking at it a bit longer I think it's best just the way you have it.
Very nice, it's getting a 9 from me.

Out of all the cigaret photo's in this challenge I think this one is the best.
Going with a 8 for now, may change it to a 9 later.... Good luck and I hope to see you near the top.

Not sure if I really care for the bottle cap in the photo. Other then that I think it's great.
Nice job. It's a solid 8 from me. Hope to see near the top. Good luck.

Great idea. Very simple and it works well.
The back of people walking is a view you often see in life, but not in a photo.
Nice job! Looks like a 9 to me. Hope to see you in the top 10. Good luck.

Hmm, I'm just not really sure what I'm looking at here. I see the mouse. Is the mouse on a pad that has been placed on a computer monitor?

I really like the colors in this one. Not sure if I like the boarder or not. Would be just a little better if the handles were not cut off. I'm giving it a 9. See you at the top, good luck.

Baitcaster X-ray

Baitcaster X-ray

Thanks for all the comments. I really enjoyed reading them.

The photo is not really a X-ray.

I took the baitcaster (fishing reel) and removed the side plate.
I then removed the spool from the inside so I could see the gears.

I set the shot up. Turned the lights off.
The room was pitch black. I set the camera self timer. The shutter opened for 6 seconds.

Then I took a manual flash that I just held in my hand and flashed the reel from one side. Then I removed the side plate from the baitcaster and flashed it from the other side. All before the shutter closed.

I used paint shop pro 8 one step photo fix to auto adjust color and sharpness.

Then I used the "Negative Image" button to get what you see now.

I did try to place it on a diagonal as I thought it would look better with the fishing rod, but I just could not seem to make it work without the reel being so much smaller looking in the photo.

I took about 8 photo's of the reel and this one turned out the closest to what I had in mind.

There are a number of things I would do different next time for a photo like this.

I'm very happy with my 61st place being this is my first challenge.

Thanks again,
