Missed Opportunityby DougPazComment: More use of DOF would have helped this a lot. Perhaps a s a B&W shot the letters would come out more clearly. |

My Action Manby MartinComment: Thought 1: Action Man should lose the sunglasses if he needs a flashlight in the daytime. Thought 2: I've gotta find my old G.I. Joe's... |

School's Out!by GlasMenagerieComment: Just in case anyone's coming back to their comments... bingo to HBunch for getting the intent of the photo. Admittedly, I was on the beach for a week with my 4 nephews and neice in South Carolina. We went out building sand castles one day, and I took a ton of photos. The three verticals in this shot (even though the framing was slightly off -- couldn't crop any more from the right without losing the suit and ending up with a torso floating in from right) kept bringing me back to it, and I let the stopped action and nice arch speak for itself. The DOF was throughout my test shots, using the camera's macro mode for a close-up of the pencil-flag. No screen or anything so technical was involved. The height of the tower in which the pencil was placed and the distance from the tower to the kids translated to the photo. Too bad the tower's molded topography crumbled a bit when I inserted the pencil. Thanks for all the comments -- on to the next one. |

A new dayby skylineComment: Love the sky. I'd have cropped it a bit more to take out the building s and power lines; I often have the same dilemma when faced with a beautiful cloud formation matched with an inopportune skyline. |
