I'll be honest and say I'm rating this a 5, for a couple of reasons. First of all, I don't really get what a thermometer has to do with a strainer. I think the composition of the shot would have been better with just the thermometer, from a more straight-on angle.

I love this photo! It's definitely one of my favorites that I've seen so far. Great choice to make it black & white - I imagine it was beautiful in color as well, but the impact would have been so much different. Gorgeous tones and composition. Good luck!

Nice image. I really like the blue tones, and while the title seems a little bit serious, it's a good shot. I do wish that the edges of the paper hadn't been bent in some places in the outer loop, though.

I think this photograph suffers somewhat from composition. The human eye tends to focus more just above the center of a photo, and since the spring is situated mostly toward the bottom right, my eye tends to focus on the upper blurry part of the spring rather than the crisp lower area. I do like the picture, please don't misunderstand. 7
