Aurora by mcmurmaComment: I knew something was strange when this shot popped up while voting. It was like deva ju all over again. You're the first one to use the same specific subject to bring in 2 ribbons! Congratulations and thank you so much for all of your comments on my shots! We should start a "little camera that could" club for the S30! |

Blue sky over Red hill and Yellow Rosesby lambrosiComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Very bright multicolored picture which works great for the color challenge.
COMPOSITION:
The cropping is very different for this type of shot. It allows the blue to show through, but I think a flat crop of just the fabric texture would have been more itneresting.
TECHNICAL:
The focus is right on which allows the texture of the fabric to add to the shot.
OVERALL:
I think the dominant color of blue takes away from the colorful bottom of this shot. Maybe a tighter crop would draw more attention to it. Also the blue seems to have some noise from the camera. A filter like despeckle of remove noise would have fixed this nicely. Slightly changing the subject or how the colors were portrayed could have improved this great shot for the color challenge.
Good luck! |

Walking along the fence. by jjbeguinComment: Congratulations on your 7th ribbon! You should be so proud of what you have accomplished here recently on DPChallenge. This was one of my favorites for the week. I have yet to see anyone who can create top winning black and white pictures nearly every time you get a ribbon. Amazing work! Sharing the top 3 with you is an honor. Congratulations! |

Primary Oak by TarbiniComment: Congratulations on your 2nd ribbon! It was such a close finish and I'm glad we can share the top 3! This was one of my favorite challenges in both submitting and voting. As I said, I voted this a 10 and it was one of my top picks for this challenge. I can't wait to see more amazing outdoor shots from you. Congrats! |

Clash of the Titansby DougPazComment: The black and white works excellent for this shot. It's very crisp and the focus is perfect. The title does help for those who don't see the subject. The offset of where you stood when you took this shot really adds to it. 10! - xertion |

say goodbyeby elgominComment: Great use of multiple leading lines here. The lighting is a bit strange, but it also appears to be around 5 or 6 o'clock which does inprove the shot. The title really helps for those who don't understand what the subject is. Overall great shot. 10! - xertion |

Primary Oak by TarbiniComment: In this shot, I see more than one leading line all pointing to the trees which is great for the challenge. The composition is also very excellent along with a very colorful vibrant shot. 10! - xertion |

Love -- Mah Jongg Styleby karmatComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Very bright red picture which is always associated with Valentine's Day and love. It's very red but also have some bright complimentary colors.
COMPOSITION:
Cropped perfectly and centered in an appealing way. It's not cropped too close and has a very symmetrical feel to it.
TECHNICAL:
The focus is right on, and the DOF is very small which also adds interest to the picture. If the entire tower of candy had been in focus it may not have been as interesting.
OVERALL:
Great shot for the challenge. The very bottom heart is cut off which does bother me, but it's overall good enough to surpass a small imperfection. That could possibly be a way to improve the shot. Very nice! :)
Good luck! |

Deadwood Skyby PtmanComment: Not sure how you managed this. It appears to be the middle of the day but the lighting on the tree looks like something you would see at nighttime. The colors are great for this shot and it looks amazing. 10! - xertion |
