Reflectivityby hblakeComment: This is just so weird; I found I kept coming back to it. There are points in the shot that make it less than perfect, for example, the green seems to compromise the background quite a lot and perhaps it needs to be more central, but the picture keeps me looking. There is something about the shot – flawed or otherwise – that make it special, why? I don't know. The photographer in me can find faults, but my eye thinks it's a superb photograph – and I'm afraid I can't argue with what my eye tells meâ€Â¦ (10) |

Red pill? Blue pill?by rstocksComment: This would have been superb apart from one thing, one thing that kills a really great idea and a potentially inspired imageâ€Â¦ The chairâ€Â¦ Get rid of the chair and shoot it again and you'll see what I mean. Sorry to sound so snooty, but the chair just pulls the eye away from the central subject; it is also clashing colourwise with the rest of shot. The mood and overall balance are thrown into conflict; I'd also avoid having the tabletop in shot as well. The white area works so well with the pills and glasses; even covering the offending area with my hand adds loads to the shot. Try covering the table entirely with white cloth, re-shoot the shot so that it fills the entire background – including in the reflection and see what you thinkâ€Â¦ Sorry to be so negative and remember, this is just my opinionâ€Â¦ Keep shooting, (5) |

skyby john22132Comment: Before I saw this shot, I was writing a comment that suggested doing exactly what you have done here and I'm glad to say – it works superblyâ€Â¦ (10) Oh, and the diagonals just dip into the drama effectâ€Â¦ Nice shootingâ€Â¦ |

Light Reflection and Refraction from CDs on Stucco Wallby paganiniComment: I think you have over done it with the title, but that's irrelevant to the shot. I think this is great. The colours are beautiful and the wall adds a superb texture making it look a bit like a photoshop filter. Great inventiveness; BTW I did work out how you did it without reading the title. I love the graduation effect from dark to light as well. Good shooting (10) |

The Bibleby jerryComment: If reflecting on the past is the concept here, I cannot see that clearly. The shot itself seems a little confusing composition wise in that I cannot decide on the central subject, the book, the photo or the person. Perhaps, recomposing with the person a little off to one side might improve the overall shot. Finally, the shot lacks sharpness; I think a shaper image would have been better for this shot. Sorry to be so negative. |

Stone Roseby myqylComment: This is a superb shot. The artistry of the light is wonderful. It has an amazingly relaxing quality and I also like the use of the leaves to add the reality punch. OK, I can't fault the picture- I really like the shot. But, I'm not sure how it fits the challenge. Is there a reflection here, not sure; it looks like a picture of a painting of a rose was usedâ€Â¦ Hmmmâ€Â¦ Hope that makes senseâ€Â¦ (9) Yes, I do like it that much â€Â¦ |

Light Reflectionby mnastComment: Great use of symmetry, great use of B&W. The composition works. Only gripe is that it looks a little on the dark sideâ€Â¦ (7) |

Place de Catalogne, Paris, Ricardo Boffil, 1985by lionelmComment: I like the idea, but the right third of picture is conflicting heavily with the rest of the image. It moves moved from a symmetrical approach to dramatic diagonal lines within the same shot. This is actually – in my opinion – two separate shots in one; both of which would stand on their own. Try cropping out both sections and looking at them separatelyâ€Â¦ Other than that, it's a well taken shot. (8) |
