Softby abuscemiComment: Well this one has some serious impact. Honestly, I think that it comes from the unusual blue-green that is so prominent. There's a strong sense of nostalgia that jumps out here.
The composition is fantastic and in general, I'd say that every aspect of this pic is well managed with obvious intent. Excellent! |

Lisboaby silverscreenComment: Very, very effective use of reduced sat. An attractive pic with a strong Euro feel. |

The Movenby ImagineerComment: This is really cool - mostly because I can't tell what you used for a light...
I like the moonlight that feels like sunlight coming through the leaves and I like the blues with the yellows of the foreground.
I also like the feeling that there are faces, especially the oval on the right and above the middle rock.
Very fun to look at. 8 |

Manhattanhenge 2010by maggiedddComment: Great moment captured well!
I find the pic a bit soft though, kind of like a missed focus or maybe not using a tripod for a long shot? |

Under the Pierby BeefnCheezComment: Unusual, it's like a Triangle of HDR processing with high tonal range and haloing and the rest with regular processing.
Odd choice. Also, the colors seem a bit 'all over the place. I like the soft tan in the sand and the soft green in the water, but the sky kind of detracts from that.
I don't dislike it though |

Eiger and Monch Alpenglowby fatboy72Comment: Beautiful. I like how the two flowers in the foreground complement the color of the mountains, although they do feel like they 'missed' a tiny bit.
It looks like you used HDR here (note the characteristic haloing around the edges of the mountains), so I'm a bit curious as to why there is so much detail lost in the shadows, especially with the house.
Nice pic anyhow. |

Best Friendsby littlemavComment: nice shot, with good lighting, could use a bit of work in processing by lightening the woman's face, and possibly the horse's just a hair as well as toning down the sharpening just a bit IMHO. There are a few distracting flecks that distract as well. |

evieby JulietNNComment: lol. reminds me of taking pics of my grandparents a couple years back.
You like it, so it's not definitively bad, but here are some things that they might not like that I saw:
#1 - good lighting in the BG, but it seems unbalanced with overly strong darkness in her clothing. A touch lighter there would probably go a long way. It pulls too hard on the balance of the overall pic, compared to the edges which have nice framing and a positive effect on the balance of the comp.
#2 - Her hair - grandparents don't like messy hair. It's ok in the back, but on the left side of her face... not so good.
#3 - Her eyes - kind of related to the hair. The eye on the left (her right) is totally obscured and the eye on the right looks weird.
#4 - the lighting - too much of her face is in shadow. The hair also creates unusual shadows.
Other than that, the processing looks acceptable. I don't much care for the bokeh on that lens, but that's not something they would notice. |

Wonky Gogglesby StonefingerComment: how the heck did this get a 5.1? Second time I reviewed a favorite from this challenge that I gave a 10 to that scored in the 5.0-5.1 range.
