Thanks for the comments and, as a number of people realized, I don't speak German (at least not well nor since high school). I just liked the German word for apple (Apfel) and the title just kinda took on a life of its own. Believe me, I got a great deal of personal amusement coming up with the title. After voting started, I realized that "wohnen" (to dwell) was not the word I was thinking of, but I was thinking of "weissen" (to know). I even got the umlaut wrong. Sigh.
