Shower of Aphroditeby alfrescoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Very nice exposure we have here :)
You have the colors, sharpnes and shutter speed juuust right, much longer or shorter would only have been worse.
But What I don't get here is how the corners could get so dark. Well they kinda put the focus on the waterfall but it would have been nice to make the WHOLE picture with all 4 corners in on it aswell :)
I think waterfalls allways score good on DPC and I believe you have a good waterfall picture going on here, congratulations on your score and I hope I helped a litle with my critique
Have a great day! |

Engagedby mcrochipComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
When I am looking at the score you got for this and look at the picture that is just not right to me. you should have been a litle higher then that.
The yellow color you have on the picture is probably from your filter. Sunset filter? Try to avoid most filters when shooting digital. UV and Polarizer should be the only filters Photoshop can't do better then.
Then I see you used saturation? I think that could have been a problem aswell when working this picture, becouse you actually got it a litle wrong.
I like the pose though and maybe a tighter crop could have helped, but I am not sure.
Well hopefully I helped you a litle atleast
Have a nice day! |

Body found in swampby alpharichComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
For being a photojournalist picture I don't think this one actually quallifies. Mostly becouse a editor would never post a picture of a dead hand in the paper. Atleast not here in iceland. :)
But appart from that I think Fotoman_Forever actually covered the whole problem with the pic under this. Some contrast would make this picture better and even a different framing.
So hopefully I helped you out with this.
Have a nice day |

Reaching for the Greenby johncoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
This could actually havebeen a ok photo, but make sure that you will use the full 640x640 when you are taking pictures for DPC. If you don't people will not score you as high as they would otherwize do becouse the picture just doesnt show much on the screen.
But lets see what we can tell you about the picture.
It looks like the colors are pretty gloomy, with some photoshop this egg could actually become a very good photo.
I hope this critique helped :)
Have a nice day! |
