Telephoneby arjunComment: Seems rather out of focus to me. Mechanical doesn't really jump to mind when I look at this. |

Christmas Fireplugby tcocollinsComment: I don't like the way this is lit at all--the bright snow and hedge in the foreground really distracts me from the hydrant. Perhaps shooting from closer, and maybe a little lower, would have given it a little more impact. Also, you could try a longer exposure with no flash (on a tripod), or maybe just a little less flash. |

Truth In Lightby thewritersideComment: Am I missing something? I'm a mechanical engineer--if there is something mechanical in this photo you'd hope I'd be able to pick it out... I don't see it here, sorry... |

Mechanical Pencilby aeh3591Comment: Even if it was in focus, I have to say, there are more interesting ways to photograph a pencil. Surely you could experiment with different angles, different lighting, etc? |

Antique Gear Driveby BradComment: I think a larger DOF is in order--would be nice to have the full face of the teeth and the engagement point in focus. |

Viseby nicklevyComment: I think it would be better with a little of the empty space at the top cropped out, and not cropped so tight on the left and right. |

Old Reloaderby bruskiComment: Nice and crisp! I like the lighting and the composition, but the distortion kind of takes away from it. |

Snip & Pressby Bear_MusicComment: I like the composition, but I think it would benefit from different lighting to get a warmer tone from the wood. Nice all the same though! |
