| 01/17/2003 08:27:56 AM | OW! I HATE It When That Happens!!! by albright1Comment: Wierdly funny. IMHO light is too low on the ear side, taking out of the picture the relation between the pencil and the ear. Also, the focus is a little too soft. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/15/2003 08:55:19 AM | Mad Owlby jnevittComment: The photo seems pretty good, although it is too small to really appreciate details. The DOF looks good as well, and the subject is well placed. Unfortunately I failed to find the humour in this one. |
| 01/15/2003 08:51:04 AM | Un-Forbidden Fruit by autoolComment: Very funny and well done. We chose the same photo to make fun with, only I guess I complicated myself a little bit more, and I'm most probably getting the same results as yours anyway. What makes me laugh more, is that tiny apple you found... | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/15/2003 08:48:20 AM | Who are you, and what did you do with my kids!???by dltruexComment: Very funny and creative. I can think of many settings for this idea, but not necessarily better than the one you chose. Although I understand the idea, IMHO it would have been a little better if there were less distracting elements included in the set, such as only the sofa and the table, without the big blue distracting machine, that flared from your lighting in it's medium area, and the flag. |
| 01/15/2003 08:36:03 AM | When was the last time you watered the plants, dear? by jjbeguinComment: There are no technical flaws in this execution. The background illumination is very well achieved bringing the viewers sight directly to the subject. At that point, there is a little lack of light right at the union of the flower and the wine (and I am guessing it's wine, since it's too dark) If the glass of wine had it's own transparency with light, the color would nicely match with the red flowers, and I believe it would make this a very special image. Focus is exact. The nuts detail is very good, although the setting looks a little bit too much of a setting, and the perfection of the flowers provides an artificiality feel. As humour goes, I certainly smiled when I saw this. I like this one very much. Congratulations. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/11/2003 10:21:18 AM | "'AT THE CROSS' where I first saw the light".by PTLParsonsComment: IMHO the placement of this shot resulted in an awkward angle for the cropping, which also left out the right edge of the cross. The focus is too soft, and the arm stretching in the lower center seems to have been cropped by accident, more than a compositional issue. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/11/2003 10:14:33 AM | Ring of Fireby Wheeler1992Comment: IMHO this is not original enough, and the flames are overexposed, loosing it\'s desired effect. It feels out of focus. Even movement in a still image needs to be in focus, or at least the subject or part of it. |
| 01/11/2003 10:11:54 AM | Johnny Cash's Ring of Fireby RefraxComment: IMHO this is not original enough, and the flame is overexposed, loosing it's desired effect, There is a lot of pixelation around the flare, which makes it feel out of focus. Even movement in a still image needs to be in focus, or at least the subject or part of it. |
