A Noble Companionby saiphfireComment: Nice unique angle for this challenge. Tree is distracting in the background. Plain blue sky would work better for me but I am not sure how feasible it would be where you took this picture. Handsome dog. I also have a floppy eared dobey that looks quite a bit like yours so, as unfair as it might be to others, I gotta bump you up one! :~) |

Mechanics of Flightby chuckComment: Thanks for the comments everyone! I knew I was taking a risk by submitting a "cliche" bug macro but it really is the best shot I took last year...I am happy with my placement. I think that makes 5 top ten photos without a ribbon in 14 attempts...LOL...is that a record? Thanks again everyone! |

"Sally" on a stroll.by wetlandComment: I love the leaf texture and the composition of this picture...the only improvement for me would be to see a little more detail or light on the salamander's head/face... |

Moth orchidby grahampComment: Love the sharpness of focus and the way the backlighting works in this picture. I must admit that I do find the intense sun in the top left corner to be somewhat distracting... |

A Tiny Giant...by NeoScalesComment: Nice! Is that a retic? Anyway...I think this picture could be improved if just the eye was more in focus...that would really give you a point to draw your attention. |

STORM COMINGby DArcy10Comment: Nice drama in this picture. I think there would be more impact if you cropped the picture so that the horizon line is about a third of the way up from the bottom of the picture. This will bring more focus to the town and the impending storm and remove the unneccessary empty and distracting water space. |

Red Pandaby C-FoxComment: Nice sharp capture! The only thing I might recommend is cloning out the distracting stick close to the panda's face... |

Remenisingby leafComment: The lighting on the subject is excellent as is capturing the moment but I find the cropping and the background to be a little less than ideal...I would like to see the entire head and a less distracting background... |
