I voted 4. Am thinking that the photo needs more light in the foreground to make it more appealing and create greater contrasts. At the moment it looks quite flat. Trying hard to see how the photo conveys "pride" - it seems hidden from me - yet you might see its meaning, emotionally, to yourself.

This is a beautiful photo, which I think deserves to do really well, but wonder if it does such a good job of conveying pride? I'm voting it a 7. I'm so so wishing that I could see it saying "pride" to me (of course that must be my fault?), but if it DID convey "pride" to me then I would have given it 8/9 (or a 10 without the twigs in the top left).

Really like this photo a great deal. Have voted it with a 9, but think there are some things which might have eliicited a 10 (from me, anyway). Am thinking that it would look better with some crop off the bottom and a tad less crop off the top so that the boy's head sits just a bit lower down in the frame. Love the look in the little chap's eyes and his stance as he holds up the apple. Nice. Best of luck in the challenge.

This is a great photo - very characterful - and I've scored it 8. I like the way the light falls on that rusty chain and the background has a pleasing bokeh. But, I would have scored this higher without the wide border, I think. (Have been relying on too big a border on some of my submissions too and seeing yours helps me understand that it doesn't always enhance the photo as much as we think, but instead creates too much of a distraction).

Like this a lot. Nice contrasts with the bright yellow and the way the lighting hits it against the darker shadowy area in the bottom right. Nice how the girls sweater and hair tone into the colours. Gave this 9.

Really like this photo. Lovely colours and warmth to it. Quite abstract. Artistic. Gave it 9. Only suggestion to improve (for me, anyway) would be to crop a bit off the bottom so that the light/bright area sits a bit lower in the shot. Best of luck with this in the voting.

A great image for the challenge. More interesting than most. Only spoiled by the focus of the scene captured in the mirror.

I do like this. A dramatic/moody sky with plenty of depth and 'movement' in those clouds. A sharp image of the pylon and power lines - forming an interesting and quite intricate syllouette (sp?). I'd have scored this probably around 7 or 8. Can't say how it might be improved, other than maybe composing/cropping so that the pylon is slightly more to the left?

I really think the black border sets this photo off nicely. Probably would not have scored it quite so high without it. The photo appeals to me 'artistically'. The drop of water at the top captures my eye which then leads down to what appears to be its shadow and on down to the dark area where two bubbles sit at its edge surrounded by white foam. I like how the contrasting colours are broken up by the darker shades making an abstract and artistic looking photo of the kind I think would look quite effective framed and hung on a wall. Gave this a 9.

I keep coming back to this. I like the photo, the lighting, the subject and the mood of intensity that it portrays to me. Bumping 9 to 10.
