ButteredImagination43.jpgby frychiknComment: I think they are daylillies. This picture was taken last year in the late summer when the rainfall was quite a bit more evenly distributed. Last year was great for flowers here (Chicago) but not this year. Flooding in May and June and near-drought since and most flowers have long since given up the ghost. |

This was, I believe, the 'hot wax coating' treatment in Paint Shop Pro. |

Lily Pomdby frychiknComment: Of course, the title should be 'Lily Pond', not 'Pomd'. I didn't even notice the missspelng until about 3 days after I posted the doggone thing! |

Welcome To Greektownby frychiknComment: Originally posted by BobsterLobster: Sorry you felt my comment was not worthy or useful enough to tick... even though it says exactly the same as the first comment. Maybe this is the wrong place for you, if you're not ready to take on board constructive criticism. You already seem to think that your photos are great, why bother trying to improve? For what it's worth, I gave you a 4. |
I'm sorry that you feel this is the wrong place for me, but since I paid I will stay, whether you like it or not. Would you be so kind as to point out to me where in any post I claim my photos are great? My claim is that this photo was better than the votes it received. For what it's worth to you, I have had many people compliment me on my photos as well as constructively criticize them. |

Welcome To Greektownby frychiknComment: I'm sorry, but how could somebody give this picture a one or a two? Only two comments, so at least 3 of the one and two votes are un-commented on. As far as the 'stuff' in the background, I live in a big city (Chicago) and Halsted St., where this monument is located, is one of Chicago's busiest streets. Things like traffic lights, street signs, cars, and busses are going to show up in big city photographs. I think the monument in this picture is impressive enough to overcome any background distractions, and I consider the trees an enhancement and not a distraction to the photo. |
