This subject is perfect for the challenge! However, I get very distracted by the incredibly sharp focus on the ice in the middle of the picture. Otherwise, the color is good and I like the center composition.

I really feel this photograph would have been better without the "blue" color cast. There is simply too much of the sky reflected onto the boat by the snow and it makes everything far too blue. My suggestions would be to show it in monochrome, or maybe with a sepia tone. Personally, I like the red channel of the image.

Compositionwise, the upper right hand corner feels bare. I would really have liked to have seen a cloud up there to offset the metal rod. (My eye wanders through the rod into the dead space).

I think the subject is perfect for the competition.
