Can't believe you're down at 36 with this one. Perhaps you were penalized for having tires and not wheels, but I think they qualify well. You received my only 10 this round and I hoped you'd get up a lot higher. I just love it!

Yes, excellent one. Perfect focus and color choice. You can really feel the smell of old used rubber in the air. I even hear the dog barking!

Egg Broken

Thank you for your thoughts. I agree of course on the ISO part, but as I tried to explain, it was chosen on purpose in order to try the camera out. Had I known that the shot actually would be this interesting in the end, I'd taken several more while the egg still was remaining on the glass. As it was now it was dished away ánd I couldn't go through the effort of cracking a new one. The "stand" as you call it, really is olive oil. Wanted something a little sticky, a little shiny, and as a bonus got a nice green tone. The line helps the picture I think, I removed it, but it didn't win anything on it. Agree that it could be more dominant / long, but it wasn't in the original and I didn't want to use the clone on this one. Same thing for the shadow being all-in. I have that in another (blurry) shot, but it sure doesn't add to the composition in my opinion, it looks nearly PS-mirrored. So the cropped shadow is there on purpose too. I'll try to recreate this again, with ISO 200 some day when I'm really bored. It did take a wihle to get it right.

Egg Solo

The high ISO was because I wanted to give it a try. I had the camera on a Tripod so I could have, and in retrospect wish that I'd taken some complementary pictures at lower ISO as well.

It was after reading all the comments about the D70 not going down to ISO100 (like the Rebel does) that I wanted to see what kind of grain we were talking about. Figured if I could take a decent shot at 1600, I could do a good one at 200. I feel this one came out decent, the rest I still have to prove :-)

Doing an egg was kinda cheating since it contains natural "grain" in the texture, and on the one with yellows in it, I did apply some gaussian blur in the yellow. But this is DP, so I figured it'd be ok..
