In My Placeby arnitComment: Nothing really happening here. This image signals end of challenge week and panic for silhouette shot? Good thing the hair blows out a bit in the front or it would have looked very painted. Something tells me a lot more detail was visible before PS kicked in.. |

Return for Nestingby scrum8Comment: Very nice bird and high marks in another challenge, but in my oppinion you're a bit off the silhouettes with this one; way too much detail and light on the front. Sorry. |

Gull in Flightby shareinncComment: I want the colors back. Gray sky and overexposed water takes away points from your nicely captured birdie. |

Keepin it Coolby NazgulComment: I think your picture would have gained from some detail in the subjects. Since there is no forground/background for them to interact with in any way and the edges being so sharp, they seem a bit cut-out of the picture rather than being silhouettes. |

Brittania Beach - Waiting for summerby cmberghoutComment: This is a really great shot with all the vertical bars being so sharp, they make a nice texture. The trees in the background are perfect side-kicks and you can't get more on-topic than this. Good cropping! |

The Future...by scwortmanComment: Nice shot of what appears to be a great sunset!. My guess is that you'll receive comments on the centering, but I guess I'll add another one; too centered. Also the star reflection in the water / sand takes away a bit of the silhouette. Perhaps it would have been better with it edited away? |

Lost Soulby DefyTimeComment: Good creepy shot! Some things that might improve the next attempt; model's stance looks too "Hey honey, does this look good?" - try arms alongside body, perhaps head hanging a bit, maybe a bit more passing by in profile?
Another thing goes for the model's exposure, although I'm not sure how you should accomplish this (perhaps post-fix in PS) - but the shining halo around her makes her look solid, reflecting a lot of light. A ghost, one guess, wouldn't? Otherwise, good work with the colors, making it look cold and lonely out there. A little less light around the feet for next shot too?
Hope you don't find me too complaining, I do find it an attractive shot. |

Nudeby DrJOnesComment: Ok, rules revisited: 'Silhouettes are created by backlit subjects, which causes them to appear solid and without much detail'.
Now, looking at this picture, take the words 'soft' and 'solid' and have to remove one. Left with 'solid'? Didn't think so.
I love it! :-) |

Cottonwood Treeby SammieComment: Very nice shot and the tree is a good find! With spot editing being allowed I would have hurt the vertical cloud at the left - it tends to steal the eye. |

Dinnerby y_llorComment: Good silhouette shot on the left 60% of the picture or so. But I think the red-faced happy man takes away from the spirit of lonley, anonymous man slowly eating while life passes by thingie that you have going on the left side. He also adds to the feeling of the image being over-saturated a bit. Also one wonders, with him being visible, as the decorations, why isn't the subject? |
