It is a nice image, the contrast is nice between the animal, sky and shadow. However there seems to be a certain depth missing here. Sure its a nice image, but just missing that wow factor.

I enjoy this piece. The colours and twirls are fun. It would be a great piece for painting with light challenge or extended exposure challenge. But for a free study I feel it is not strong enough to hold up to some of the other pieces. However it is a fantastic image.

City in the snow

Cute street scene. A nice location. However for me there just isn't enough push. Maybe a bit of contrast or colour one way or the other. But it is lacking something for me. However it is nice.

Not a bad image but not a great one. The shallow dof offers some personality though I feel it falls off too quickly because the cackles standing up would have offered a much more animalistic and raw feeling if in focus.

Interesting concept though the center framing is killin me. Also the overly textured ground is a distraction to me. I would have liked the sky pulled back and a richer colour in its place to give me a more sun rise/set feeling.

The bane of photographer... powerlines. I wish there was something more to this. For me, there is no really identity or connection. I want something more and this image just does not have it.

The Mother City

There is a nice element with the lights upon the structure on the right. Though the sky seems or appears too bright to have so many lights in the city. Overall it is an interesting image but for me just does not offer a strong wow factor.

Flowers

Yes they are. Flat in lighting, not much wow factor. Against black may be compensating for loss of clarity, trying to get extra pop from them. For me, they are not very exciting. Though I am not a big flower guy myself.

St. Louis Cathedral

Strait on images are often lacking in wow factor. To demonstrate this, I find the most exciting piece of the image to be the titled barrier on the curb and I wonder how it became so titled. Was it a car, or truck that sped through? Was there a fight one night and someone was thrown against it? Was it just poorly constructed and after time its own weight started to make it tilt? it is a neat building, though I feel there are stronger ways to show it off.

Spirit of the Season

Very simple macro of a light. Though being a touch yellow I feel the colour is off, if it was crystal clear or white it may have created a strong sense of spirit for me. Though as it is, it does not hold much.
