gave this a six. it's a good application of the chromey surface, must admit, and i especially like the slightly smeary effect on the camera - visually very lovely. the ends of the toaster on the other hand doesn't look that good in terms of complementing the whole shot. and the bit of bread (in terms of being soft, brown and not really techie like the rest of the image conveys) looks a bit silly and superfluous. still a likeable shot though.

gave this an 8. it's let down a bit by the splodge of black from the hat right across the top, and the light fitting on the wall (would be better with a plain tiles background methinks). he could also do with some hands. but, it's so madly bonkers that it is impossible not to like it. having him on the side feels right too... i also like that it's one of the few shots that actually incorporates the mirror as an integral part of the overall theme (that is, we're looking through his eyes), so i guess the hat splodge is in fact suitable... anyway, well deserved 8, i feel.

gave this a big fat 10. too much i like about it; the lighting is fantastic, the colours being bold and that sort of hueness, the sky nicely dramatic (but not overly so in an unnatural way), the marks and scratches on the surface of the glass, the way the camera is held... it's really good striking stuff. also a great little camera; we have that one and i'm always impressed with it - especially in terms of colour performance... anyway, excellent. 10.

voted this a 4. i don't know really - i salute this because you've gone a different way to everyone else and taken a shot of elements of your camera, but then, it's also like being asked to do a portrait of a person and only photographing their hat and scarf. doesn't really meet the challenge, sadly. i like the actual shot though; the depth of field works and the strap has a certain well used and worn quality. lighting at the back seems a bit harsh though - somethimes better to illuminate what you're shooting than light from behind.

gave this a 7. i love the beautifully rich red colour of the backdrop; looks really striking against the black of the canera body and lens. clearly the shot is suffering a bit from the distortion (less solid reflections) from the glass in the mirror, but the overall shot is so strikingly in your face it doesn't hurt it that much. nice.

i gave this a 9. the camera looks fantastic against the yellow orangey fore/back ground, especially with the over-sized nature of the lens on the front. didn't quite get the ten because i would have liked the frame of the glasses to be in sharp focus too (the design of them would be better suited to crisp defined lines, i feel) and the skin looks a bit reddy (white balance or a tan?). great shot though.

conceptually, there is nothing wrong with it; the punk hair is a bit odd for a camera, but it's creative and visually arresting (if not wholly appealing). it really suffers heavily from the soft focus though; i'm not normally one to automatically slap an image because it's not super sharp, but in this case the softness doesn't really add anything in terms of style. other aspects that might help is to do with the set up; i personally would have taken off the strap, curled the front of the blue surface to hide the black edge, and more centred the camera. initially gave this a 3, but it does have a certain kooky charm, so upping to 5.

gave this a 9, based on the immediate wowness of style more than anything else. the colours dramatically enhance the image as does the very funky lovely background. the panoramic look is also very nice, and a great decision. i'm in two minds about the oddness at the top of the camera; it's obviously a flaw but such a good one i think it actually adds to the overall shot.

gave this an 8. i love the dirty grungy feel of this. the look and presentation of the camera on the right is wonderful, especially with the blue glow behind it. oh, it just occured to me; is this a clever optical illusion, do you have two identical cameras? if so, very good; if not, even very gooder! using light bulbs is an originally creative novelty which i like, though the messy clutter feel of the room reflected in the bulb kind of lessens the impact overall. still; great picture!

gave this a 7. it's a technically really good picture, but somehow doesn't feel quite dynamic enough. it's nice and sharp, i like the bottom / corner compostion, and the yellow background a lovely striking contrast to the black of the camera, but aside from that feels a bit flat and lifeless. the presence of the strap lets down the clean line, modern, uncluttered feel of the picture a bit, too. i'd personally had also cropped below the area of red in the top corner; it detracts and there's also a lighter splodge in the top-middle area...
