ELLEby unicumComment: I cant deny this is a superb portrait shot but what jounalistic story is it telling me? I want to vote high for the photographic technique and skill but low for the "photojurnalism" bit. Not normally a stickler for the rules I'm feeling guilty leaving a middle, cop out score of 5, way lower than the technical merits of the photo deserve. Sorry, I love the shot.
CAme back to this and realised this was supposed to be the cover of Elle. Upped to a 9 |

Prison Cell 9by Man_Called_HorseComment: Really really like this, one of the very few that I really want to know more about the story. Great shot and great "hook" to get me to buy the newspaper. 10 |

Oiling the wheelsby geewhyComment: Love the movement you've captured/created in an essentially static image
I'd love to go back to Grangemouth for another shot at the refinery but I'm a bit nervous after my brush with the law on the previous visit.

Happy Springby ShannonLeeComment: There is something unappealing about your composition. Perhaps it's because both people are near the edges of the frame with a large portion of your photograph as dead space or perhaps it's because I can't really see either of their faces and so can't make a "connection" with either, perhaps it's a little bit of both and with the tilted verticals too, it just doesn't work. Sorry. |
