Sport (...and Photography)by HawkinsTComment: Thanks everyone for the great comments.
Kevin: The use of f/2 with focusing a little way back in to the crowd was deliberate, in order to draw the eye in to the image and round, instead of getting stuck on what would be the most prominent figures in the foreground. I believe this works better when the image is larger than 800 pixels however, or if you take a step back from your monitor. Whether this is better than having the foreground in focus though I guess we can't know, since I only shot it like this. Thanks for the constructive feedback. |

one on one by LevTComment: Whether a homage or a coincidence this is very similar to one of Rui Palha's better known images " We Are So Little #2". Still, I love all these images putting mankinds scale in to perspective :). Congrats on the blue! |

Yeah, I did debate whether to crop the photo in or not. Still not sure which way I prefer. |

Piazza San Marcoby salmiakkiComment: Hmm, I don't remember this shot. With my computer breaking I unfortunately didn't get to go over all of my votes again and adjust them after my initial quick categorization (which is how I normaly vote). It'd have got a 7 if I had (instead of the 6 I gave it - sorry). I prefer your b&w boat shot (I even favoruited it), but this is still a really fine photo and I think picking the image you're most happy with is important. The toning is really nice, but it's the man in the archway the really makes the shot for me. |

The voyager's servantby nixterComment: Your images never cease to amaze me Nick, how you scored less than me I have no idea, I guess it shows how little the score means - 16 favourites is pretty telling though :). Now I just need to sell my dslr and buy a galaxy s! I refuse to believe equipment means nothing =). |
