This is a very cool image with a lot of potential. I'm curious to how you did this and your picture link below isn't working :(

But I do like this idea and concept very much. Just a few minor things, if corrected could have put this much closer to the top. I like the bright lighting as it shows there are no strings attached to the card and it really adds to the mystery of the technique. The problem is, as stated before the background. Maybe if you had an all white backdrop so you could see the entire shadow, that would be wicked to me and bring out the white in the backdrop so it really pops out at you. The black and gray doesn't work because it's competing for my attention and the line that cuts across is very distracting to me. One other thing, maybe a different crop, all the space on the left is wasted to me personally, there is nothing there for my attention and it doesn't really add to the shot, but if you moved the space to the right and extended the shadow of the card and pencil to the right so you have the physical card and pencil on the left leading me in and the shadow of the card and pencil leading me out............... Just a thought. I would love to see how this was done AND if you ever try it again, I would love to see the results.

An idea that two others seem to have come up with, LOL. I like the composition of this shot, the idea and the look on the cat's face, so fits the title. The things that bother me personally a bit is the the overall shot seems very dull and lacking any POW factor, maybe if you played with the levels a little bit and worked the color balance to bring out the eyes more? Also there doesn't seem to be any DOF on this, it all appears a little soft overall. I like that I can see the definition of the face, just which it jumped out at me a little more. A 7

Hahaha, had to look at this for a second to figure out what you were doing here. Very clever, unique and well doen. I like the set up, the shapes, the overall composition. Only two things bother me, the way they are lined up aka, the angle, for some reason I think it would be better going lower left to upper right, at least more I don't know, natural for some reason but this works well also. The other thing is the upper middle staples, they lose a lot of definition, I know you are working with as shallow DOF but it seems that at least part of it should still be visible as far a lines and such. But again, great idea, An 8

Aww, how cute! This is a very nice shot, the clarity of the subject and the colors so nice and warm. I'm not really seeing the camouflage angle as the little caterpiller stands out very well there. Also the light on the right side seems a bit overdone for some reason, not sure if you used flash or it was natural light but it detracts away from the overall image to me personally. Again, a great capture, a lovely shot overall. A 7

Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck, GOOSE! Sorry, couldn't help myself, LOL!

What a lovely image! So quiet, serene and for you to find the duck like that there or is that a decoy? Almost too perfect! :)

But no matter, live or memorax it's still a wonderful warm shot. I like the setting, the lighting is very well done, the shadows with the light the oly thing that bothers me is the things in the upper right corner. They are competing for my attention in a bad way with the duck. Can't really tell what they are but one almost looks like a wooden squirrel. A 9

Hey, you stole my cat! :) Almost looks like my Tweety but she has white on her nose as wel. Cute shot. Good job getting the cat to look directly into the camera, I know exactly how hard that can be, LOL

The idea is great, as I see a few other people had the same idea but the problems I see with this one is the cat's not really camouflauged or disguises in any way. An adjustment to levels and/or curves could have had the cat blending more into the background though the blue and black would never really match exactly. If you had a black cloth or coat you could try this with. Also an adjustment to color balance, to the yellow to make the eyes really come out and maybe another to contrast to really make them pop. Normally this would get a 5 from me but because the subject is so darn cute, I'll pop it up to a 6 :)

Cooooooooooool! I love this. Saw it in the thumbnails and thought, this is gonna be good and I was right.

First, congrats to you or your model for being so daring and thinking about this. The lines on the wall work right into the lines on the model and blend very well. The biggest problem I'm sure you will hear about is the light glare on the paint compared to the flat tone on the wall. Being a basic challenge you couldn't seperate them and make the adjustments that way. Other than that, very well done, grand idea and you get a 9

Hey, I see you! All tiny and quadrupled and wearing your red shirt or jacket! :)

Nice idea, very unique in this is the first one I've seen like this. I like the overall composition of the shot, the way ornaments line up, leading you in one side and out the other. The DOF is well done also, bringing your focus in right at the first ornament and slowly fading out on either side. It's not tack sharp but it draws you to that focal point. The shadows on the top are a bit distracting as is the upper left corner, keeps wanting to pull mu up there to that dark spot. Color is nice, red is so hard to shoot as I am finding out, it can blow out rather quickly and really overpower a shot but you did very well on this one. I'm giving this one an 8

This is a very nice shot, catching them all in flight was a very nice move. I love watching them take off and land, it's so pretty.

The shot is very nice overall, though your main subject, the birds take up a very small space they still draw you in by the dark outlines of their bodies and the reflections on the water. The one goose (I'm guessing they are geese) in the front middle seems pretty clear while every thing else is just a touch out of focus. That is a neat trick, nice DOF for that. My only complaint is the coloration of the sky, the yellow edge to the gray top, if you cuold have adjusted the levels or color balances or saturation to make it pop just a bit more this would probably have gotten a few extra points from me. But as is, a 6

Yes they do! Great shot, nice capture overall. As I'm sure you've heard or are going to hear, focus. Nothing is in sharp focus and a soft focus doesn't really work well with this shot for my personal taste. I'm guessing it was a quick shot before the little guy took off and they are fast, this I know having had to catch them when working at a pet store.

He blends in very well with the wall itself an dif you could have captured him just on the wall that would have been great because the leaves are a bit distracting, especially the one in the front that is so bright. But getting it just as he's looking at the camera, WTG! :) A 6
