Early Riserby lmhrComment: Nice framing job with the clouds. The hard part of shooting moon shots is getting it big enough -- people at my work don't seem to get that -- you pretty much need some incredible equipment to pull it off well. I think that's the biggest problem, the moon just isn't large enough in this shot. It's supposed to be the center of attention, but it gets lost in all the blue. |

Dock at Twilightby bdshortComment: Nice image. Love the poles' silhouettes and the touch of definition to the pier. Kind of wish there was either a little bit more color in the sky from the sunset to add some other colors, or a little less to make it all blue. The only thing I really find my eye repeatedly going back to in a bad way is the life-preserver. I don't know what you'd do with it though -- crop it out and you're too close to the pole, put it in and you lose the nice composition you have. |

Relaxingby g04tComment: OK, the sun flare is kinda cool -- as is the backlighting on your legs. But overall, I just have to say that this isn't that interesting to me. Mainly it's just very dark (not that you can do much about that when shooting straight into the sun on a shady porch). |

Silentby chuckComment: Nicely done. Personally, I wish the reflection of the person wasn't in the eye -- but I'm sure you have otehr people telling you they like it -- so what do I know. I hate snakes -- but I have this morbid curiosity to capture them on film. During a recent trip to the zoo, I managed to capture a rattlesnake yawning -- the pictures weren't very good cauz I was kinda freaking out. Anyway -- good lighting, nice back and foregrounds. good composition with the snake. If the tongue had been out, now that would have added the icing to the cake. :-) |

Evil Dollyby evmariedogsComment: Yes, I know -- personal interprettion of fear.... This one doesn't work for me. Not because of the idea, but because of the doll you chose. One of the Twilight Zones that freaks me out the most is one with an evil doll that ends up killing a man. If you could have found a freakier looking doll (not necessarily a Chuckie, understand) I'd have gone along with this. But this one looks too Shirley Temple to me. |

Being Aloneby CowgirlComment: Great fear. Two problems. The tonal range of the picture is kind of flat. No really strong shadows. Second, I'd like to see not so much a less busy background as one without the welded wire stuff behind the woman. Was a different angle possible that wouldn't have included that? |

Nightmareby timj351Comment: Interesting use of fireworks and some kind of model/figurine. I think the nightmare aspect might have been pulled off a little bit better if the weapon had been silhouetted just a bit more --a s it is you can see he's holding something, but whatever it is is a bit indistinct. I'm not sure if it would work, but did you try a vertical composition? Or maybe including the figure at a sharp angle? |

Lost in the Graveyard Woodsby sohrComment: I'd be willing to work with this if I could see some tombstones or something. Otherwise, it's just something that looks like somebody accidentally tripped the shutter while on a night hike. |

I'm afraid it's necessary.by liltoolComment: OK, the shot made me laugh. As did your interpretation of the challenge as found in the title. Wish the shot wasn't so blue and tan, and that it was a little sharper. |
