I think if you had shot lower and taken it as a portrait and made the names clear on the wall, this would have been an awesome shot! The Freemasons symbolic Washington Monument could've been larger in this shot if you also had photographed closer to the monument.

Thanks Salmiakki. The sky was originally a beautiful blue and no clouds, a gorgeous sunny day but I replaced it with the greyish colour on purpose.

The tree is a ghost gum, so I wanted the sky to be as dull as possible so the green in the leaves would stand out.

This is the original . As you can see, the bright blue washes out the green leaves.

I won't be using the same border idea again.

I don't know; I think the girls back is distracting, it takes away from the focus of the old man.

Just for the record. You scored well from me with the image you did submit, I would've scored lower if you had submitted this one.

The one you did submit is very clever and well thought out. I loved its originality.
