You were probably right to reject this one. I think, had you pulled back just a little and gotten the foremost petals in sharp focus and maybe added a little light from the front this would have been a good submission. Other then those two details, I think the overall composition is very nice.

A hamster ball and a watch. LOL Quite a literal interpretation of the challenge. I like it though. I think the light coming from the bottom right is a bit harsh on the watch. I probably would have given you a 7 had I voted on this for your creativity and almost perfect execution. It's a shame the other voters couldn't see the humor in this shot.

What a pretty baby. I think your focus is a little off. If you pull back just a little you can get his nose in focus and draw the viewer right in. Nice capture

Nice composition and focus. I would love to see what this looks like in color. The contrasts are nice, but I think it is a little bright on the top left of the mushroom.

Forked Tongue

Very nice. The way the fork sits in her mouth it looks very natural. I also like this in black and white. For some reason I don't think it would have the same impact in color. Only complaint is that I think the focus should be on her mouth not her eyes.
