Lonely Sunsetby landon1013Comment by SoulJance: nice shot, because of the black dress fading in to the back ground you are forced to look at the the skin tones which is well done making this a nice portrait. (unless this was meant to be a fashion shoot in which case I think you need a different back ground for some contrast.) |

A couple things stand out for me that I think hurt this image. I think the background is too busy with all the knobs and reflections. I think her pose is stiff and unnatural looking and I think you should have gotten rid of the stuff on the carpet. I realize it's artistic impression regarding the hard contrast of the lighting, but personally I don't care for it much. I would have liked it better with the shadows on her right side opened up. I also think there are too many body parts cut off by the crop. In general, you shouldn't crop at a joint and you've essentially done that in four places. It tends to create tension with the viewers.
If I voted in this challenge, I would have given this a 5.
I hope this was somewhat helpful, and maybe helps to explain the finish in this challenge. |

TV heavenby landon1013Comment by Yo_Spiff: Watch your JPEG compression settings. I see some artifacts around her locket and a few other areas. At only a 58k file size, you could have used way less compression and gotten far more clarity in this image without those artifacts.
Like the idea though, and I am resisting the temptation to put down a joke about the characteristics of the perfect woman. |

Polka dot dress on a snowy dayby landon1013Comment by landon1013: The reason it may look forced is because it was FREEZING that day hahaha I was in a coat and I was still shivering I am proud of my brave model to risk being so cold it didn't help that she was on a freezing cold rock. ;) |

I was surprised when I opened the link to see that this scored as low as it did. Clearly the image met the challenge, so you cannot have received DNMC votes at least :)
For my taste, I find that framing is a little too tight. I would prefer to see a little more space to the left of the image as I look at it. I do agree with some of the comments you have received already about the posing. You model really does look a tad uncomfortable, a little like she is clinging on for dear life.
Although I don't think there is really anything wrong with the exposure, the lighting does feel a bit flat to me.
