an object with significant potential - the textures and light reflecting off the surface of the damp wood can hold a lot of interest - i am just unsure about the choice of composition and choice of areas for focus and not focus - in fact, it is unclear where the shallow DOF is pointing us...

I don't see the shallow DOF here. Also the image could benefit from a levels adjustment. Also, if it were mine, I would straighten it so the windmill is vertical.

Unfortunatly a confussing picture... but I think the layout was great. I think if you backed up when taking this picture it would have been better. The only reason I say it was confussing was because I couldnt understand what that picture was until I looked at the title of the picture. Also the lighting could have been better the fans on the windmill dont stand out enough and in order for that windmill to pop you should have had more lighting on the fans.
