flowerby qws101Comment by Maggye: the focus seems to be a bit off, I can see the use of DOF, but since your background it's dark it can be a bit hard to appreciate. Sometimes if you take your picture from slightly below it gives you a cleaner background. flowerby qws101Comment by rinac: You've got the right idea, but the focal plane seems to be on the area just below the petals, leaving you with a lot of out of focus flower taking up all of the real estate unfortunately. |

flowerby qws101Comment by pedahel7: DOF is small on these types of shots making it more difficult to get the subject isolated. To me I would prefer to have the the details of the flower in focus with some of the petals maybe leaving focus. Maybe if the focal point was midway up the stamen of the flower and the broken stem to the left was not so well focused. Overall I believe you have the right idea - 6 |
