The Bridgeby jhomrighausComment by Abra: I feel the bridge is too under exposed. There wasn't a lot of colour in the photo so maybe changing it to black & white and boosting the contrast may have been better (hard to say without really trying it and maybe you had). However, what I really feel this shot needs is to be taken close from the ground (at least below the railings) to give it a more interesting perspective and to remove the snap shot feel of the photo. 3. |

The Bridgeby jhomrighausComment by giantmike: I like the filtered light in this shot, gives a bit of mystery to the scene. I do wish the bridge was slightly brighter to show more details. |

Yessir, f1.2 FTW!
I love this lens, everyone else seems to bitch about the softness that is imbues on an image. Modern lenses with AF seem to make everything razor sharp. This is a 40+ year old MASSIVE chunk of glass, the back side is about half as big as the front, the thing weighs a ton, but there is nothing that feels like it at all. I really feel that shots with this monster are very warm and soft. In this shot the focus is I think about halfway through the grip on the lense, its hard to use on the D40 cause the viewfinder is so small and dim.
The other thing it offers is great buttery Bokeh, see some of my other shots in my portfolio for examples. |
