SIX-16 Brownie by NevorianComment by Ja-9: now that is a classic...I had one of those...you have good focus on the camera...but the purple background fights with it (IMO) |

SIX-16 Brownie by NevorianComment by Lonni: I love the colour of your background. I think the lighting on the camera might have benefited from the use of a reflector to light up the side. |

P8010116.JPGby NevorianComment by bergiekat: You daughter is darling!!! Couple of suggestions. :) Crop the top of the shot a little more to get rid of the bridge or whatever the concrete piece is in the corner. It is distracting. Watch your background as unintentionally, there is now a tree growing out of your daughter's head. You could either position her a bit differently so the tree isn't directly behind her, or you can shorten your DOF (larger aperture (smaller numbers)). This will actually blur the background more and you wouldn't even need to worry about the sprouting tree. :) This is very useful when the background really doesn't add any interest.
The white in the pants looks a bit harsh in the shot. Maybe shooting at a different time of day to get a less harsh light might help. A neutral density filter might also help.
You've a darling little model. Utilize her! Shoot tons of shots and you will soon realize that people might become your strong suit!! :) Hope some of this is helpful. It's truly not a bad shot at all!!

Bug on a bladeby NevorianComment by Citadel: Interesting shot and congrats on you new personal best.
I see that you might have used your 14-54 mm. Using your longer lens would have gotten you in closer. A tighter crop would have also worked.
A prettier bug would be nice too. This guy is kinda ugly :) |

Bug on a bladeby NevorianComment by Schmeldontino: nice light and DOF, but it would have been nice to see more details of the bug....it almost gets lost in the photo, so a closer view would have been nice |
