Not a bad idea. One thing that is distracting me is the magnifing effect is blurry. If the manginfied area was in sharp focus and the rest of the shot was not, I think it would have more impact. Also the guitar in the background is distracting.

Interesting. Depending on what your intention is here, could use greater depth of field to get those white pieces on the board in focus. Guitar seems out of place, but if it means something to this scene that I just don't get, that's fine. I guess there are too many objects here for my taste. Nice, deep, blacks and whites though. Lighting is very well done.
