Toastedby pillikcamComment by 3DsArcher: I really like your concept. At first glance, I wondered how many pieces of bread got toasted for this shot or how many times the same two pieces got 'popped'.The effort was well worth the result. I am going to make the assumption that your toaster is actually white & that the colour produced in the photograph is a colour cast problem. Please forgive me if I'm wrong. To fix the colour cast problem is easy. You can either do it 'in camera' by playing around in the white balance settings on your camera or if our editing software allows you to select the 'set white point' then just bring that icon over any part of the toaster & click & that's it, instant white toaster again. |

Overall, a very well done environmental portrait.
I think, compositionally, she feels a little tight on the right hand side of the frame. Perhaps if you could have changed your perspective so that you were a foot or so further left, it wouldn't feel so crunched. Another option, which may have been easier in post processing, would be to have more of the garden/plants showing on the left side of the frame.
Technically, it is also very well done. The focus, colors, clarity are all very nice, and the dof that you have used works very well. Her shirt (and the shot overall) is just a touch hot on this monitor, but it may just be the monitor.
Nice shot and best to you in future challenges.

Un-Maskedby pillikcamComment by blindjustice: Great pout, super blond hair and shiny lips. Great background and looks like it was fun to do. Really 80's glamour feel. |

Un-Maskedby pillikcamComment by L2: The pout isn't really working. The shoulder separates the viewer from the subject and appears a bit standoffish instead of evoking sympathy for the subject. |

Un-Maskedby pillikcamComment by togtog: Well, there is a mask, and a model. Scene is too dark while the mask seems to be too bright in spots. Overall fuzzy, background seems lighter than the foreground. Sorry for the criticisms, please don't get discouraged. :) |

The Gardnerby pillikcamComment by pillikcam: All:
Thank you so much for the great comments. We even got a "Kali Ribbon"... That's awesome! My wife is a bit camera shy so the positive comments are helping quite a bit. Her left hand is in a cast so she was giving me all kinds of reasons not to be in the photo. She loves her garden but due to her injury...I dug the holes and planted all the trees while she supervised. I had her hide her broken hand behind the bushes. I put a piece of cardboard down on the ground, had her put on a glove and pretend she did all the work. That's probably why she looks so happy. She has her manicured yard while sitting on the back porch giving instruction and sipping a glass of wine.
Thanks again.
