I usually have a hard time taking pictures of lighter things. What happened here sometimes happens to me - the flash killed the detail and texture of the popcorn.

Not a fan of the lighting on this one. I would say if you are going this direction I would like to see uniform lighting on all the corn.

Strong focus on the popcorn but it's a bit too static and ordinary. Perhaps shooting from underneath the popcorn, say under a glass table and showing a hand reaching for it would have upped the wow factor. Also, watch your exposure. The highlights are a bit too bright. I might try diffusing the light more so it's not so harsh.

If it weren't for the shadow in the upper right, the blownhighlights wouldn't bother me. It would almost give it a certain "tone" or mood. However, the shadow makes it look unintentional.
