Comment by shutterpuppy:
cool idea; wish the point of focus was reversed, however, with the light being out of focus but still illuminating the face and expression

Comment by Yo_Spiff:
A good interpretation of the theme, but not quite as sharp as I would expect this sort of a shot to be.

I like the idea, but I think you need to take more care with the execution. For instance, clean the bulb (and your nails ;) ) for a crisper and more powerfull image. Furthermore, the picture is way too noisy and the crop near the bulb is too tight. (4)

a truly lovely portrait. The tones are great. You took the highlights and shadows as far as they could go without losing the softness. The end result is a tangible three-dimensional feel. The composition is simple and straightforward, but also elegant, and just enough of the car is hinted at to give her a setting. Ditto for the grassy background. There's something very American about it, but the tones seem like early-20th-century Europe, for some reason. Wow, I like this photo more the more I look at it and write about it. I swear it's turning into a movie. She's talking English but I can't figure out whether this is an American movie or an American character in a French movie (played by a French actress).

I was having a very difficult time picking my yellow ribbon winner. I finally chose this one simply because it is so moving.

I can't help but wonder why the focus is on the headrest and not the girl? 5
