Greetings from the Critique Club

You already got all of the comments about it having minimal motion blur due to your shutter speed. Seeing your explanation it appears you were set to standard settings and this took you by surprise and you didn't have time to change settings.

You did take the shot at a good time, where we were directly alongside the driver and could see him well.

As another said, this is too centered. If you had cropped perhaps at the front of the windshield of the Avalanche it would have taken out that distraction and shown the car entering the shot rather than being static in the center. I would also suggest cropping out some of the negative space of the road.

I'm sure if you were in complete control of the situation and could direct the driver on repeated passes in a location of your choosing with a much slower shutter speed it would have been much better and scored well. As it is he was just starting on a very long journey and didn't have time to mess around. I hope he made it to Seattle.

It's a weak composition for me. I don't like the car being in the center of the shot. It would look better if it were off to one side or the other. Also, the sense of movement I get from this shot is very weak -- the car does not look like it was moving very fast.

I see no tale-tale streaks that indicate motion panning. It is an interesting vehicle

Nice old car, but too bad there isn't more motion blur to separate it from its background.

I'm afraid you need to have used a longer exposure to get more motion blur. Or walk over and ask the drive to floor it. :)

I think I'd like this more if there was a message in the bottle or something.

I think closing down the aperture would have made this shot better by having more of the scene in focus or slowing down the shutter speed to give the water that wispy cloud like look.

A good idea, however it looks like the bottle base is focussed better than the label
