Primaryby johnkochjrComment by Mike: critique club:
color: colors look good and natural
lighting: image is relatively well lit.
composition: nicely cropped
focus and depth of field: the butterfly appears soft. in fact i'm trying to figure out what the focus point actually is, that probably the biggest problem the image has its its overall softness.

Chasing Acornsby johnkochjrComment by Melethia: I like this. The face of the child is somewhat impassive in contrast to the decoration on the shirt. The blue works well, too. |

Chasing Acornsby johnkochjrComment by basssman7: Interesting processing adds to an otherwise "snapshot" type image. I am not fond of the bright highlights on the top right, and think that being able to make eye contact with the subject would help as well. |

Just ducky!by johnkochjrComment by johnkochjr: Thanks for the comments. Makes a lot of sense. This was my first attempt. I had some better photos that I could have used but I wanted something I thought was middle of the road so I could get some good feedback. Thanks! Much appreciated. |

Just ducky!by johnkochjrComment by spencerwood: The specular highlights on the water are very distrating and take the eye off the main subject. The duck could do with being sharper as well. A shot much lower to the ground would bring a lot more distance into the frame giving the duck good focus against background blur |

Just ducky!by johnkochjrComment by macrothing: Ducky is getting lost against the background of the water. Nice capture but appears to be some blur in the head especially. |

2007_0505Fun0021.JPGby johnkochjrComment by clangley50: Hey great shot man.
I would love to see just his expression, its priceless. The girls, although cute, pull you away from him. Also a tight crop of his face covering 1/3 of the frame and set at the rule of thirds I bet would look great!!
You got a good start, keep it up. |
