the waiting is the hardest partby Ambrose007Comment by LucidLotus: Great use of black & white. I love the contrast. I like the perspective, the skewed nature of the window adds to the interest. Fits the challenge well, I get a lonely vibe from the photo. Well done! 7 |

the waiting is the hardest partby Ambrose007Comment by dix_paul: I like the silhouette idea, but to me, somehow I don't get the feeling of waiting for something - perhaps it's because the beard stops you reading any facial expression, also My eye is immediately drawn to the block of flats |

the waiting is the hardest partby Ambrose007Comment by Quadrajet: I like the fact that you're using black and white as well as silhouetting the subject. The exposure is just right for a shot like this one.
I guess the angle the camera is tilted at is something I'm curious about. Why is it tilted that way, is there a reason for it or is it simply that way "just because"?
I know the window is giving the best light for a silhouette, but the building in the background seems a bit distracting since it's clearly visible and fairly well exposed. I think that closing the window would help obscure the building and keep the attention on the subject rather than what's behind him. Either that or using a smaller f/stop (larger aperture) to create a shallow depth of field which would in turn blur pretty much anything outside the window.
I hope this helps,

Outdoor Lifeby Ambrose007Comment by gaja_tz: face looks like out of focus. composition is ok, but also head is overexposed and also pants & t-shirt, you should try to make some exposure compesation or to fix the exposure. = 4 |
