spinning wheelby techdocComment by purpleflutterby13: Greetings from the Critique Club.
The image definitely does fulfill the challenge, but I gave it a low mark during voting because I don't like the layout.
The composition could be greatly improved. The spinning wheel itself makes a good image, and I like the effect of the long exposure, but the background is very busy, and distracts from it. Also, the POV could be much better. I probably would've gone for a slightly higher, frontal view. Also, as Citadel mentioned, an off-centre composition tends to be more dynamic. Maybe even just cropping this one more tightly would have worked.
Good score for your second challenge though! Keep on taking pictures, and they'll keep getting better and better.

spinning wheelby techdocComment by Citadel: lol...its been a while since I've seen this. (My shot of this got corrupted and I only ended up with half of the wheel).
Nice colors and use a long exposure to create motion. There are a lot of distracting elements in the background however.
The composition Positioning yourself closer and looking up might create more visual appeal. It would also get rid of a lot of the busy background. Putting the center of the wheel in the middle of the frame is somewhat boring. An off center position would create visual drama.
The challenge: Right on. You can't say this DNMC at all. I don't suspect there will be a lot of Toys R' Us Times Square pictures entered either so this is quite unique.
As an aside this is far better than the picture I took. |

Red Bridgeby techdocComment by outland: I like the perspective. It just seems to lack a center of attention. The limbs from the left obscure the bridge. All my opinion, of course. |

Red Bridgeby techdocComment by miadrago: neat bridge, but the branches are distracting, so a different angle might have been a better choice. |
