Floral Tributeby joekentComment by Judi: This is so pretty. The delicate pink of the petals and the dewdrops. The fragility of life. |

Lunar Remainsby joekentComment by bohemka: This is awesome. How did you not get lens flare on this shot? The glass I use would have been a mess. It's so clean and crisp, not to mention minimalist, which as I'm witnessing goes a long way to making a quality B&W shot. Beautifully done. |

Lunar Remainsby joekentComment by Xynarah: Great subject. I like the contrast between the verticals and horizon line. The shadows and sun's flare are a great contrast too. |

Red Arrows by joekentComment by salmiakki: Greetings from the Critique Club
It is quite difficult to offer a critique on one of the ribbon winning shots, but I'll have a go since you ticked the box for a critique.
It must have been incredibly difficult to capture this image, so I take my hat off to you as the composition is spot on. It never ceases to amaze me when I see images of formation flying how anyone manages to get these shots. Those planes move quickly!
Choosing to desaturate this image was interesting. I personally am not a fan of selective desaturation and had I voted then it would surely have influenced my vote. I very rarely find it enhances an image and in this case I think a blue sky would have worked so much better. I am however, clearly in the minority on this issue as you still scored above a 7. I wonder if you would however have scored higher overall with a fully saturated image?
Anyway, quite difficult to critique since it is a really well done image. |
