Nice use of DOF, however the picture (subject) is not all that interesting to me. The lighting seems a bit harsh.

This is a great idea. What would have worked better for this shot is to get a brighter/whiter mug to make it stand out more. Good luck, this should do you well.

It's distracting that the coffee cup is tilted, and the lighting needed to be better. Also, white balance could have made the cup contrast better against the black.
