A wonderful pan -- reminds me of the summer I graduated high school, when I worked at a balloon festival...

Oh, how I wish for freedom from the 800 pixel constraint. I'd love to see this at poster size. I like your timing. One launch above the others still firing up. 8

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Congrats on your very good finish in an FS, no small feat in itself. That anchor is truly amazing, surprised it's not in a museum. The tidal flats have marvelous textures to them, and that lens is a fun toy that does a damn fine job here. I find the sky almost a teeny bit too pp'd but clearly the voters and some commenters liked it :-) Nice reflections and composition, lighting is lovely. Wish the exposure was a hair longer to capture the rich tones in the sky.

Again, lovely shot, keep shooting and entering!

Feel free to PM me

Susan

I can't help it, this immediately brings to mind the line from a Rupert Brooke poem "Stands the church clock at five to two (I've altered the time to fit this image) and is there honey still for tea..." !! Lovely light and detail.

Very cool. That one piece of metal all alone is very powerful.

Very nice colors. I'm wondering if shooting from a higher point could be better - the object touches the horizon and water on the background is barely visible.
