sunrise over St. Paulby kreshkinComment by DelRioPhoto: Hi Karen. This is a very nice photo. All the street lights are great. The lines from the roads/highways and the railroad bridge are great. The sunrise is beautiful too.
The photo does look like it is slightly underexposed. You might try lightening the image up a little, but being careful not to blow out the sunrise you captured. I like to use the levels adjustment layer in photoshop to lighten photos up a little. Other than that, you might try a selective color adjustment layer followed by a saturation adjustment layer in photoshop to really make the sunrise explode with color. Bumping the contrast might make the clouds a little more agressive.
I'm assuming you have photoshop. Anyway, very nice picture,. You've got a good eye.
Cheers,
-Jeremy |

Which came first?by kreshkinComment by aKiwi: Looks a little soft & flat. Probably by playing with levels you could get a bit more contrast / get rid of the yellowish colour of the hen. Then a bit of sharpening could improve the image after resizing. |

Which came first?by kreshkinComment by ladyhawk22: Good idea for this shot, but lighting glass can be very tricky!! I haven't really tried it myself, so I'm sorry I can't offer any suggestions there :-( Good vivid colors on the chicken. |

You had a good idea. I think some better lighting would have helped. Also, lose the cup that the egg is in and place the egg on the surface next to the chicken. Try diffusing the light to remove some of the hot spots in the reflections. Also the dark background takes away from the image. You might have tried a natural background or something. Keep up with your progress. This site is an excellent place to practice and get feedback! |

I like the one broken key over on the left - it's like a little visual surprise. |
