Not the most interesting photo in the challenge but still quite nice. I think increasing contrast to give the colours more impact, and a closer crop, would improve it.

This is lacking a bit in contrast. It seems to be all midtones with very little highlights and shadows. Adjusting the levels to deepen the reds and heighten the yellow in the center and along the rims of the inner petals would make a stronger statement, IMO. The bud at the top of the frame pulls focus from the main subject.
