In the Tubeby ruthiekComment by kosmikkreeper: Greetings from the CC!
!st off I want to say that this is an original shot! It's unique and I love photographers that go out of there way to get that original shot! BRAVO!
COLOR & FOCUS: NOw this of course, lacks color due to the nature of the subject. SOmetimes that works well, but IMO, due to the many shadows, it lacks to please the eye. Tough to get a nice deep DOF here but you seem to have done a pretty good job. It seems a bit soft at the front but only slightly.
COMPOSITION: Tough to do a centered shot pleasing to the eye. It's a bit of center from top to bottom which I find somewhat distracting.Probably bringing it to one corner would've made the shot more dynamic.
LIGHTING: Unless done on purpose, cast shadows on white makes the picture look "dirty". The bottom of the roll is quite "dirty" and the top right a little overex. Can't be that easy getting good lighting from this angle on a macro!! But what I do like iss the strong light at the end of the tunnel. It gives it perspective and goes well with the black bg.
All in all an OK shot. I didn't vote in this challenge but I would've given you an avergage 5.
Keep it up!

Giving Thanksby ruthiekComment by CreativeFlyPhoto: Hi there from the Critique Club!
I do like the tones in this image and emphasising on the hands was a very good idea, but i think the symmetry should have been a little more dominant. I do like the concept of the usage of the hands and the composition is cropped quite well for the image used but the hands arent exact and i think that's why this image did score lower than hoped. if the hands were flatter showing more of her face on the left i think the symmetry would have been a little stronger ... i did not vote this week - but if i did i would have scored it a 6 for even just capturing the shot and the tonal range :)
Good job ... Ayme |

Primariesby ruthiekComment by Gordon: great subject - composition seems a bit indecisive - is it lots of red, lots of yellow or ... you've left quite a lot of tension by giving equal areas to both that makes me a bit uncomfortable |

Primariesby ruthiekComment by dsidwell: Reminds me of a Mondrian painting. A tiny bit out of focus, bu the balance of the colors used is very well done. |
